With all the hoops the government has us jump through, some people are confused as to whether the Solo 401k trust needs to be registered with the state. If you used a bank other than Key Bank to set up your bank account, the bank might have even told you this out of confusion over what type of account you have.
You do not need to register the Solo 401k Trust with the state. The Solo 401k trust is a private document and does not need to be registered publicly. For further questions regarding filing requirements for the Solo 401k, please contact your CPA/tax attorney.
