Complete Step by Step Instructions

  • Enter in your email address

  • Select Solo 401k

  • Click on “Begin my application”

  • Enter your first and last name as well as your phone number for contact information. Click the checkbox at the bottom if you’d like Solera to be able to text you regarding your account.

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Enter your home address information

  • Enter your personal information

  • Background information for your employment. If retired, select ‘Retired’ and enter your most recent employment info.

  • Are you adding a participant? This can only be a spouse, if they are a participant in the plan with you. They can be added later.

  • This section allows you to choose how many accounts you would like to open. It also is the section to nickname those accounts to easily tell them apart.

  • This section is background information on what your investment goals might be. This does not affect the status of your account, or what you can invest in.

  • Please enter your trust name (found on page 4 of Adoption Agreement), trust EIN and creation date (date on EIN letter). You can put your home state as the state trust was registered.

  • Upload a copy of your signed Solo 401k Adoption Agreement. You’ll find your Adoption Agreement in your Solo 401k dashboard inside the "Signed" folder.

  • These steps begin your personal identification process. You will need your passport or ID handy

  • You are given the option of ID type here - driver's license or ID

  • Solera Bank gives two upload methods. Mobile method uses the QR code shown below, while the webcam uses your computer camera. If you don’t have a camera on your computer, you’ll want to use the QR code to take a picture with your smartphone.

  • Last item of verification is entering your SSN. This is not used for your checking account other than verification purposes. The trust EIN was already listed in an earlier step.

  • By completing this last step, your application will be submitted.

  • Lastly, you will receive an email informing you that your application has been completed and up for review. You will hear from an agent in 1-3 business days.
