Solo 401k Pricing and Fees

Every fee Nabers Group charges for the Solo 401k, what's included, and how billing works.

Solo 401k Core pricing

Solo 401k Core is our only Solo 401k plan. It costs:

  • Setup: $499, one time. Charged at checkout.

  • Maintenance: $29 per month. Your first month is charged at checkout. After that, $29 is billed automatically each month.

You pay $528 at checkout: the $499 setup fee plus your first month of maintenance ($29). After that, $29 is billed each month to the card or bank account on file.

What's included

  • IRS-approved 401(k) plan documents and IRS opinion letter

  • A new EIN (tax ID number) for your 401k trust

  • Ongoing plan maintenance and support, including IRS-required document updates, amendments, and restatements

  • Unlimited rollovers, at no extra cost

  • Participant loan documents, generated in your dashboard, at no extra cost

  • Restatement of an existing Solo 401k from another provider, at no extra cost

  • Bank, brokerage, and crypto account access

  • Form 5500-EZ preparation

  • 1099R preparation and filing

  • No transaction fees from Nabers Group

Pricing is per plan, not per person

The fees above cover the whole plan. If you and your spouse both take part in the same Solo 401k, you still pay one setup fee and one monthly fee. Adding a spouse costs nothing extra.

Specialized plans: $500 one-time fee

Some businesses need a specialized plan document, which our documents team prepares by hand. Specialized plans cost a one-time $500 administrative fee, on top of standard pricing. Specialized plans are:

  • Controlled Group plans: you and your spouse (or other related owners) own more than one business, and you want to contribute from the income of each business. All businesses in the group are listed in the plan documents.

  • Multi-owner business plans: your business has owners other than your spouse. Those owners are excluded from your plan so it stays a true Solo 401k.

  • Minor plans: the business owner is a minor.

The $500 fee applies whether you need the specialized plan at setup or convert an existing plan into one later. Specialized plans take 5 to 7 business days to prepare.

Specialized plans use our standardized, IRS pre-approved plan document. We don't offer custom or individually drafted plan language.

Other fees

Reinstatement: $500. If your maintenance fee is 90 or more days past due, or you cancelled your plan and want to restart it, a $500 reinstatement fee applies on top of your ongoing maintenance fee.

Banks, brokerages, and other outside providers may charge their own fees, such as wire fees or trading fees. Those fees are set by the provider, not by Nabers Group.

Changes to your plan documents

Changes to your plan, such as updating your address or business information, are free. The only exception is converting to a specialized plan, which carries the $500 fee above.
